TPMS question
I just got new tires today and the TPMS/TPWS light flashed for about 1 minute, then just stayed on, I turn car off, turned it back on and still was on. I know there is a TSB for the TPMS.
But before I call dealer, did the tire shop do something wrong or is this the TSB. I checked tire pres. and it was good in all 4 tires. Also is there a way to reset the light.

1. did the wheels get the tpms monitors installed on them?
2. did the tpms monitors end up on the same corners of the car they came from?

I had gotten the wheels about a year ago, the light didn't come on then or when I have gotten the old tires rotated. They didn't replace the sensors they are the orignals that were on the car when I purchased the car.

Is there any way to reset the light. I just called the shop where I got the tires they said it may have to be reset.

I think they may have damaged them. Look closely at your valve stems. If one is different than the others, that means a TPMS sensor is missing.
I used the same shop for both my wheel changes. If you don't know what your are doing when you break down the tire, you will crush the TPMS with the machine. You have to be careful and really know it's there and stay away from it. I've rotated tires 3 times and changed wheels twice w/o a problem. Sorry to hear about this. I hope it's not what I think it is.

If one was damaged (or missing) it would take about 20 miles for the light to come on with system's tolerance of not hearing from one or more sensors. Check out the following post - you can actually get the TPWS CPU to report what its issue is by flashes of the TPWS light: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...8&postcount=11 |

I think what he said was right ^^^^
It may be that they cracked one on the changing machine and it took 20 miles for it to come apart. The valve stem you see looks to be made of metal. The part of the TPMS on the inside of the tire you can't see is made of plastic. Easily broken, plastic. It could have been cracked and then the spinning wheel caused it to break loose. Damn shame. I really wish we didn't have these things to deal with on our cars.

No, the scangauge won't read it, as the TPWS ECU doesn't report codes to the main ecu.

Well to make a long story short, I went back to the tire shop today, they reset it twice the light never went out, so I call a dealer to get a appointment they said if I could be there in 10 minutes they could take me today, so off the dealer, they fixed it under warranty, but they were not at first. I complained a little and then they did. So my problem is fixed now.

So, does that mean the tire shop damaged something? Or maybe the dealer could not tell what happened?
