Advice need PLEASE

hello people , i have just bought the following speakers.
below is the sales blurb , i got them for $139.00NZ shipped.
The Question i have is do i need a amp to run these and can i run them
with out the crossover , as i also have a set with no cross overs.
Probably silly questions ,but i have never used component speakers as such before.
