Hi guys,
I'm new to this guys so please bear with me. I live in the UK and I've got myself a Yaris T3 and was purchased back into July 2006 on a 56 plate (I think that would be a model 2007 for you guys in the states) I want to try and upgrade or find a way I can use my Ipod touch. Problem is I dunno where to start ![]() Now, some people have said there is an aux input in the car somewhere and many have said it's to the right hand side of the stereo. Can you guys give me some advice on what I can do. I running out of CD's lol |

I've found this off the tech site which might help people, with the same model as me:

on my 08 model i just have the aux jack down near the shifter. Also on some models you can get the ipod interface cable (what ur diagram shows) but it will run you almost what the iPod costs and I have no clue what headunits support what. Sorry if that did not help at all lol

don't quote me on this but you might need a different headunit for the aux out. or it could be as simple as a new harness with an aux lead, which case you can run to a convenient location. depending on how concealed you want things, a new headunit with aux in (on the front) might be an easy way to go.

As has been said, there are sources out there that have i Pod interfaces as well as USB interfaces.
Interesting thing to do would be to locate your ipod down under a seat, run the interface to the source and make the i Pod like a hard drive. Plenty of music!

Alot of people have talked about just changing the stereo which comes with the car for something which has an Ipod option available to use.
Again, I dunno what good cheap options are out there and what I really need to do. |

i did a simple DIY to my HU, and got my iphone connected. So what i did was just use a simple iphone handsfree kit. Cut the headphones out and put in a 3.5mm jack to it so i can insert it into my AUX input. what i get now is that i can listen to songs, also can use the button on the handsfree kit to answer the calls and to change the songs that i am listening. when in call, i can hear the call from my car's speakers and the mic is sensitive enough that i can make a call easily without getting it closer to my mouth. so its a simple task and works great.
