Just disabled 2010 5door US trac, now it climbs dirt hills fine - Toyota Yaris Forums

Ok WHEW !

I thought the Yaris was a total hunk of crap for a little bit (climbing slippery stuff). on a particular steep dirt hill, when trac kicks in, it leaves me dead in the water, unable to climb this particular dirt road.

Finally I had a chance to try it with TRAC disabled, and the Yaris is the
Climbinator !. It climbs better than any other [FWD or RWD only] I have used on
this hill.

I figured it would, given the narrow tires, but TRAC always screwed me over
when I needed just a little constant slip.

turn it off, pull/pump/pull, trac off, it goes right up no fuss at all.

I wish so bad I had a switch to turn trac off. I will just have to plan ahead
and turn it off in advance when I expect it may kick in and hose me.
