Question Dirty floormats

ok so on the original Yaris floor-mats I have had the worst time trying to keep the white writing white... especially on the drivers side mat.

does anyone else face this problem?

once you have cleaned it put scotch guard on it, it will just take longer to get dirty and it will be easy to clean,

Do you know if the Yaris comes with Scotch Guard already applied? Also, with DIY... do you know if Scotch Guard Fabric Protector bleeds the Yaris upholstery (seat fabric, carpets, etc) ??? I have some and want to protect my Yaris interior. The last car I used SG... it was a great protector, with cleaning afterwards a breeze! Unfortunately, it discolored (streaked) my seats and carpet...

mix some superclean 50/50 in a spray bottle. move mats into the bathtub, get a soft dish scrubby with a handle, or a wheel brush or whatever. soak the mats with superclean and scrub. the more you scrub teh cleaner they'll be but you can also pull out the fibers...

let sit for about 5 min...enough to do the other mat. turn on shower and rince thouroughly. then that'll be enough time for the other mat...rince it thouroughly.

after, use dupont or scotchguard to protect. after that all you'll have to do is vac it with a cleaner that has one of the brushes in it...not a shop vac but a real carpet vacuum cleaner.

I understand the scrubbing part but is that going to re-whiten the white writing that says "YARIS"?

I just put mine in the laundry sink, put the plug in and a couple inches of water with laundry detergent and scrub. Then drain and refill to rinse. Scrub some more, rinse again and then let it hang dry on the line outside. They turn out like brand new.

But in the summer I don't drive with my shoes on, so I don't get heel marks under the gas peddle. In the winter I have the Toyota all season mats.

Tuff Stuff works best for Car mats...its not nearly as wet as normal cleaners and you'll see the dirt actually fly off the friggin mat!! its amazing stuff
