Remover for gunk from 'Door Guard' slide protector?
Hi,
I waxed my car the other day in preparation for the Winter season. I noticed from door guard rubber protectors I installed are seeping from the adhesive from the summer heat. They are very gunked and gooey. What is the best solution... products to clean up without ruining the paint? When I clean it up... I'll wax the small area. Any help would be much appreciated... Cheers! Pics:

Alcohol! At least, that's what I'd use. Very small amounts, mind you. Just enough to get the stuff off with a bit of rubbing.

The strongest thing I have ever seen that is safe on paint is Acrysol.

Thanks for all the replies!
![]() I went to my local Wally World the other day. They have a big bottle of Goo Gone! They do not carry 3M Adhesive Remover... the employee said that would be on an industrial level? PA cannot carry it, he said? I mentioned Acrysol? He had no idea what I was talking about... So, I will probably pick up the Goo Gone next week and use it before old man Winter comes... Cheers!

Goo-Gone is a wonder, for sure. I just put it on and let it sit for a couple of minutes, then wipe off. I don't think I ever had a thing that didn't come off.
