You just need to remove the center console to get them. Unscrew the shift knob, remove the screw from the cup holder and pop the center console up. It's like a piggy bank - You collect the coins in there until you really need them, then you take it apart.

Take a look at the "interior" section of the service manual

are these coins will fall just on top of the carpet under the center console or will slip right under the carpet( w/c will be more difficult to retreived)? |

if you're unlucky they might slip under the carpet... but it's not too hard to peel away from the center console, if I recall there's a velcro strip holding both sides together up front, open that and just peel the carpet back...

There's coin slots in the driver's glove box in the HB's.

that should be it, just lift from the back and pull the whole thing over the shifter :)
YOu might also want to remove the piece in front of the handbrake with the AUX port (you should be able to unclip the cables from the back to remove it completely)

You really don't have to remove the wiring clips. Just take the whole piece off and leave it there. Take it off by hooking a finger under the hand brake handle where it goes over the plastic flat area that the switches are mounted, and lift it straight up. Pop! it comes off, and you can turn and angle the whole plate assy to lift the console part out without disconnecting any of the associated switch wiring. Much faster/easier than mucking around with the wiring. Less chance for mis-wiring when reassembling. It will be easier to remove the plate when the hand brake is in a lifted/applied position. You can see the outline of the switch plate, and the part that sticks in the little "slot" just below the hand brake handle (when the e-brake is not applied) is where you will lift up. It will take you less time to remove it than reading this!
