Some new goodies...Clutchmaster+light flywheel= WINNING

THE OLD:

Original equipment clutch and flywheel. Approx 470,000 miles!!

THE NEW:

Clutchmaster stage III clutch
The FX300 System uses the Power Plus I Pressure Plate with a Steel Back Segmented Kevlar disc. This clutch is designed for the ultimate street enthusiast or weekend racer running a normally aspirated car equipped with cylinder head work and/or hotter cam(s), or with medium-boost turbo or super-charger, or up to 100hp NO2. The FX300 features only slightly increased pedal pressure, long life disc and positive engagement.

Competition Clutch Lightweight flywheel

SPECS:
Forged steel remains in a solid state throughout the manufacturing process, maintaining a tighter grain structure resulting in higher performance loads.

· Forging does not allow for porosity in castings and ensures a more reliable consistent material flow throughout the part.
· Eliminates ring gear separation.
· Eliminates friction surface and flywheel warpage.
· One piece ring gear for high durability.
· Stamped with 4140 forged plate with 2000 ton pressure at 1260 degrees.
· CNC machined and balanced to OE specifications.
· Meets and exceeds SFI 1.5 specifications.
· The lightweight steel (heavier) version preserves low end torque and drivability.
· All steel flywheels work with any performance and OE clutch assembly.

Got this put in on Friday right after I picked it up from Jeff over at Micro Image. I can't say enough good things about this combination, the improvement is almost unbelievable...the closest thing I can compare it to(with my limited manual trans experience) is the clutch in my friends 2011 WRX. The grab is awesome, the clutch is smooth and easy to use in bumper to bumper traffic, my first drive on the new setup was from Glendale to San Diego(135 miles) @ 6PM...it took me an hour to go 20 miles, literally, and I didn't have any fatigue in my left leg!

So far this mod has gained me the most noticeable improvement, I wish I would have done it sooner.
