Spin out and engine shutoff? - Toyota Yaris Forums

I didnt know which forum to put this in, so my apologies if this is the wrong place. So earlier today, it was raining pretty bad. After leaving the gas station i entered the rotary. As i was going around the rotary, i could feel myself start to hydroplane a lil. When my rotary exit came up i went to take it, and instead, ended spinning 180 degrees, counterclockwise. Scared the shit outta me. Luckily i didnt hit anything

After when i got my bearings and went to drive off, the engine was off, but the key was still in the "on" position. Is that normal? i turned the car off and started it again, and it started right back up and no dashboard indicators were on. i pulled into the nearest parking lot and popped the hood. Everything looked fine, and nothing was leaking or disconnected

is there any possibility that i could've damaged something?
