Hi Everyone.

How's it going? New member here, I just bought a 2007 Bayou Blue Yaris last night.. I'm still out on the color, but I love the car. I've been into Honda's for years. Then bought an Explorer, it was a nice truck but they gas was killing me. I loved the look of the Yaris, and the price tag was just to tempting so I broke down and bought it.

I'm going to try to keep this car practical and not mod the hell out of it, but you know how that goes.

Cool, thanks.. I'm already sitting looking at wheels, coilovers, rear sway bar, hitch (for bike rack), TRD foot pedals, and Toyota arm rest.

I tried to resist, but the first thing i did was pull up the carpet under the clutch and cut that foam block in half (i believe its referred to as the Bigfoot Mod) cuz after about 2 days i started wearing the carpet out!

ohio here, too

i bought silver 2007 yaris sedan three days ago - talked them down $ 560 to $ 13 630 ; i traded in '00 subaru outback ltd. w/ 131 k miles on it ( they gave me $ 5K for outback.... ) i wrote them a check for $ 9500 and i drove out of the lot in my yaris; by the way did you guys pay $ 200 " state mandated documentation fee"? - a salesman persistently claimed that state of ohio requires that fee.... because i hate to waste my time i paid them but i also told tham that if i find out they lied to me i will get'em to the small claim court to get my $ 200 back ( plus court fees plus interest )

your state limit is 250 for the doc fee. I don't think it's a goverment fee so you 'can' negioate your way out of it. Yeah dealers charge lots of BS fees to make money on the back end...

like you I was tired from the haggling so I paid it too, I hate car dealerships

You would think, if it WAS state law then motorcycle dealers would be forced to do the same. I can usually get most places to either wave or they just don't include the doc fees. I don't know why cars would be different.

Another new member here, I am going to buy a 2007 Black Sand Pearl Yaris this week.. Mods in the future, YES!
Aeroover Lip Kit, C-One engine mount, C-One front aluminum undertray, C-One front sway bar, C-One front lower brace, C-One solid shifter bushings, C-One rear strut bar, C-One lower center brace, C-One rear bumper bar and Willwood big brake kit. With all that said I see there are some interesting and drop-dead gorgeous cars in some of the forums.

welcome to the forum, classair - me and my wife will be hitting the road in a month: we live in NE Ohio and are going on vacation in Fort Pierce, Fl. I need to break in my Yaris beforehand ..... On my first tank of gas average mpg was 45 ---- 90% city stop and go (mostly stop) driving, so i'm looking at well over 50 mpg on our vacation trip. I believe EPA "sticker estimate" is BS in this case. My salesguy told me that hwy mileage for broken-in Yaris is about 50 mpg but Toyota cannot advertise it due to the fact that Prius , that costs twice as much doesn't even get that mpg as an AVERAGE ( city/hwy) figure. And guess what is the main reason for folks to buy Prius ?.......
I will keep you informed on my mpg readings
