sadness
So I went to the Toyota dealer today with my grandfather (he has to be there because it has to go in his name, I have shitty credit) so anyway we get there and the first thing he says is hell no to the liftback..buttt...he said said yes to the S. Only problem...that stupid truck I have to get rid of LOL they tried to offer me 6000 trade in, hell no im not giving it up for that!! The truck is still worth more than 13 so I am trying to find someone with shitty credit who just wants to take over payments ;)
so What is the difference between the LB and the S? besides body obviously |

interior space and trunk space. the S has more interior space (good for carpooling), but the LB is more versatile if you have to haul boxes or luggage of the like.
i have the S. i've had both my parents and my brother; plus my father's wheelchair in the trunk with room to spare. i've also had two additional passengers and a crap-load of camping gear/equipment in the trunk. it's good enough imo. now i have an amp and a 10" sub in a sealed box in the trunk. lost about 1/5th to 1/4 of the trunk space. also, the LB has more aftermarket support, just in case you want to mod it in the future. |

modding wise (i think), the suspension parts are the same, the engine parts are the same, but the exhaust is different.
and since you're in Cali, the US doesn't get a tachometer in the LB. also, if you're planning on getting a manual tranny, the shift boots are different. the S has a nice looking leather boot, and the LB has (to me) a weird looking one. the interior is also different. i believe the LB has blue-dotted seats. i have a charcoal-ish interior. the LB also has a driver-side glove compartment. i can't really think of the other differences. and i think the LB weighs an addition 20 pounds. |

so you checked KB on the truck and they offered you less than half? I would go to another dealer after I softened up my co-signer for the hatch.

What are grandad's objections to the liftback? Is he afraid it's too small to be safe?
One of the great things about the LB is that you are sitting up pretty high, like minivan height. This gives you a very good view of traffic around you. |

Carmax will usually give you good money for cars. Dealerships can suck it! What does Granpa have against the LB?
