Yaris vs Chevy (Pics inside!)

I will be with out my beloved for alittle while
(pics below)

The Story:
I had just turned into the movie theater parking lot when all of a sudden I was shoved to the left... aka some douche-bag teenager slammed into me from the side... (insert a shit load of swearing at him and images of me imagining of throwing his head through his windshield)... so cops came, cars get towed, I submit claim, and now have to wait to hear from the insurance claim guy (which i'm sure ill have to have a heated discussion with).

the pics below should sum up the damage. If you look at the first picture you'll see that he hit me just above the center of the wheel and my tire is now slanted inward , i had to pull the bumper out from behind the tire so that I could get the car out of the middle of traffic (as the movies are a crowed times these summer days).

Side Note:
Atleast the chevy got smashed to bits, compare the damage of the two and the yaris kicked the shit outta the chevy.... 1++ for yaris...

Ha! That Chevy body didn't fare so well against your drivetrain, did it?

As a slight thread jack, my Vibe (aka Matrix) got hit from behind by a mid-90's Ford Taurus. It did a little body damage... punctured my bumper and left a small stress dent in the body beside the rear glass. But it TOTALED the Taurus! Busted that thing all to hell!

I'm so sorry to hear that, poor little Yaris! Glad no one was hurt.

But the chev...what in the world, did someone's head hit the windshield, or was that already there? Did the guy at least have insurance?

neither of the two passengers where wearing seat belts... so the passenger may have hit the windshield, but no one was injured. and yah he had insurance... I'll no more about everything a little later today after some phone calls

Y'know, I saw the busted windshield and assumed it was a stress fracture, or that part of the hood jammed into it. If that WAS from the passenger's head, I bet they'll learn to wear their seatbelt next time! It takes a pretty good lick to bust a windshield, and that one's busted BAD!

That sucks about your lil Yaris; at least you're okay.

The windshield of the chev was most probably cracked due to the deployment of the passenger side airbag cover hitting the windshield. Seems strange that the passenger's head hit the windshield and not the airbag.

That truly sucks! I'm glad the little fuckers got a headache though! They must have been going pretty fast in a parking lot to cause that much damage/ break windshield with their rosy little face!

Air bags are designed to be used in conjunction with seatbelts. If they weren't wearing seatbelts, the passenger's head probably wasn't in the right position. With feet pressed against the floorboard and no lap belt to hold you down, there's a lever-like action that causes you to raise up as well as forward (the feet become the pivot point instead of the waist). It probably hit him in the chest!

How stupid to not wear seatbelts but I'm glad you're ok and Yaris ruled!

Pretty sure the airbag did the damage to to windshield. The airbag deploys up and then the windshield deflects it out, back towards the passenger. It looks as if the cover tagged the shield and then the bag. It would take too much time for a head to crack it and then the bag to deploy with out him/her making contact.

if the deployed airbag caused the windshield crack (which is what i think happened, as much was i wished it where the heads of retards) thats pretty much a piss-poor chevy design
