New tune.....
I decided to hit up the 1/4 today to get an idea of what times to expect when I compete at Scion Exposed coming up. I did not want to deal with breaking axles today so I left my steelies on, holding the factory 185/60-15 all seasons . I still managed a 12.93 @120.1mph! 120mph trap speed is supercar territory, needless to say I am exstatic about that! Im fairly certain now that 11's is possible with slicks! This tune is still on pump gas running 27psi. We are going to play around with a E85 tune this week........

man that is AWESOME. That shows lots of power for the upper gears.
I gotta get out there, totally jealous.

awesome! I'd be really interested to see what you can do on e85. A lot of the seriously built subaru guys run e85 (cheap, and you can make more power)

I only opted out on E85 because it's difficult to get near me, and the storage issues.

Yea same situation here, closest station is 30 min away. We are using my car more for testing, gotten many inquiries about e85 tunes so I am going to be a guennie pig lol. I won't be running on the e85 map normally. I have to look at the Haltec manual, see If I can just wire in a switch to manually change maps. That would make life easier.

wish I had the bucks to do something like this, we have e85 EVERYWHERE here in Illinois. It's almost impossible to find uncut gas around here

Upgrade those axles and get those slicks on every time. That is a fast car right there.

Watching the American LeMan's race last weekend the commentators mentioned that E85, which many teams run for the Michelin Green (environment) points, makes less HP than gasoline so those teams are allowed consessions (lower weight, increased tank size, or others) to make up for the power sacrificed.
I'm guessing E85 runs cooler (like alcohol) than gasoline which may be advantageous in a high boost turbo application???

My roomies old RHD crx was tuned for E85. The shop did a dyno before and after. It was like 147whp with some N/A mods (cams, intake, exhaust, ex.). Then they tuned it with E85 and did another dyno afterward, it hit 181whp.
Only problem was we only have 1 gas station in our city that carries E85. The next closest one is 2 hours away and in another state.. lol I say do it.. go for that switch so you can toggle a tune between E85 and 93. |
