australian vs american models: timing chain
Hi all,
I am wondering whether there'd be any difference in the engines between the Aussie and US versions of the 2002 Echo? Specifically, information for the US model says it uses a timing chain. Surely the aussie version would also have a timing chain (and not a belt)? any info gratefully taken cheers christian |

My 01 and 05 Echo's have a 1.5l motor and both have timing chains.

if you have the 1.5L 1nz-fe engine, yes timing chain.
others... well, i guess the 1.0L and 1.3L owners can tell us longer. |
