Help Guys!! Wheel & TPMS Question!
Hi Everyone!
i just bought my 1st Yaris this past weekend. Its a 2010 Yaris sedan. Think stock tires are 15". Im considering purchasing these 17" rims for it off ebay (see below link) Let me know what you guys think and if ill need to do anything extra other than throwing them on when i get them? Also i dont plan to purchase any TPMS sensors for these rims so what kind of probs will i come accross? plan to use the rims in the summer but throw back the stock wheels and tires in the winter so will the TPMS recognize the old tires when i throw the stock wheels back on? Thanks in advance everyone!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT |

You could install the TPMS from your steel wheels.
BTW, spend the additional $40 and get the 205/45/17's. |

TPMS question about reprogramming
I just bought used 15 " rims with the TPMS. They are from a 2008 Yaris. Do you know if they would be compatible with a 2010 Yaris or would they need to be reprogrammed. The toyota dealer we went to thought they would need to reprogrammed. I didn't think they would.
Thanks |

I've just gotten used to the TPMS light being on. One day I'll stop being lazy and disable it. It was going to cost $500 for me to get that installed on my new wheels. I can just do a walk around every time before I get in the car to save $500.

CTScott , these rims pictured are from a 2008 . Would we need to have them reprogrammed if we used them for our 2008 sedan ? Also would we be charged for the reprogamming ? Sorry , we're a bit confused . Thanks again . Here's the pics of the 4 rims w/ T.P.M.S. for $85 each . Come with a 1 year warranty , including the T.P.M.S.. They were also checked for balance . Seem to be in good condition for being 3 years old .

Upwards of $300 for some stock steel wheels seems a bit steep though. But that's a different matter. -C

We've been trying to get rims for a few years . They're rather scarce in our region . Probably due to the winter and fewer YARIS on the road that end up in a salvage yard . Don't forget these have T.P.M.S. too . Would cost a bundle through the dealer .

The TPMS is a plus, but it's sorta outweighed by the fact that you'd have to have them reprogrammed anyway. Install is going to be more expensive than reprogramming, but I don't know by how much.

Install ? The tpms is already on the rims , if that's what you're referring to . It'll save us $60+ a pop at twice a year for having the snows and all season tires mounted and balanced in the coming years . Better for the tires and rims as well .

I meant install on different wheels instead of steelies. But if you're willing to shell out to reprogram twice a year, by all means, go nuts. Are these going to be the winter wheels? If so, then I agree and I'd just get steelies. If these are the summer wheels, I'd look into something other than steelies. Even some Scion xA or 1st gen xB wheels.

Already bought them . Most likely stick them on the '08 sedan with the GOODYEAR Eagle LS all season tires that are in storage . There's snows on it for now .
