I'm going to start a thread for my audio upgrades, as I'm planning a complete overhaul, in stages. If you have any questions about how anything is done, shoot me a PM and I'll try to answer best I can. All work is on an 09 Liftback.
I'm kicking it off with the deck... Here is the Yaris starting off from scratch. There isn't anything really wrong with the factory deck, except it has no provisions for aftermarket add ons unless you were to use line inputs, which is junk. ![]() Here is what the car looks like with the innards torn out. ![]() Here is the new deck back in place after being wired, and pre-trim, if you will. ![]() And here is the whole thing buttoned back up and ready to roll. ![]() Deck is an Pioneer AVH-P6000DVD, sourced from Crutchfield for 499 + tax. Crutchfield is pretty k3y, they were 500 cheaper than my best Best Buy price, and 200 cheaper than Pioneer. Also came with remote and all the install goodies. Still getting used to the deck, but it's pretty sweet, 6 disc cd/dvd changer. Trying to figure out how to load the toyo logo as the background, and I guess this kind of necessitates me redoing the back lights now to either white or blue. I wasn't anticipating the gap with the fillers, I was expecting it to fill the whole hole, so I might have to look in to making a new panel to snug up to the deck. Unsure how I feel yet, it's my first DD deck. I haven't hooked all the goodies up yet, but more will follow. And since someone is bound to ask; Yes, my DVD player DOES work while I'm driving. - H Last edited by H3LlIoN; 11-08-2009 at 02:16 AM. |

Indeed, good catch. My brain has been wrapped around a serious alpine install the past couple days and I was just out of it. Thanks.
