Buying online by private party

I just want to be sure it is safe to buy here by private party paying by PERSONAL CHECK? I got absolutely no warranty the seller will ship... Do or not to do?

Is there any bad experience encounted here on yaris world?

Personally in this day and age I have quit using checks at all with exception to child support. There are just too many easy ways with checks that cause financial security issues, but that is just IMHO.

As far as I know, the vast majority of transactions on this board go well, however, i strongly recommend you take the time to create a Paypal account, because if anything should go wrong, then you'd have some way to track down your purchase and the seller. The board cannot and does not monitor purchase between private parties, so you have to use your own judgment.

If you are uncomfortable, tell the seller to list his item on eBay and d it that way?

Paypal is actually your best bet, and they do allow you to add funds via a check or bank account.

I own a paypal account since ages.. its just the seller dont have any account, want a check, but 'im suspicious by nature. I would be more comfortable if its was a known user of the board. Anyways.

If the member has a low post count, just joined the forum, then maybe you want to wait a bit. I don't know what to tell you.

what about money order? Why do you need to send a cheque?

Your gut knows what to do. Good luck.

i'd make the other person use paypal. It isn't worth it trying it any other way.
