2009 3dr HB Yaris with 30k for $10k
I purchased a very clean 09 3dr Yaris with 30k for $10k. It is a manual transmission with power windows, mirrors, locks, no nav and not sport model.
I was told this combination for 09 is rare and that manual tranny is getting harder to find. Looking to get feedback on the deal, and an education on what available options there were for 09. Thanks! |

took me awhile to find a 5sp W/pwr windows!!
These small cars are getting harder to find cheap!! cash for clunkers!!
Took me awhile to find my 10' 5sp at a dealer here in MN and I had to basically give them what they wanted for it!!Upfront pricing. they would not throw in as much as a free quart of oil or discount mud guards! I guess this is the new way to buy cars, people like it??

so they still offer manual
Thanks for the reply. SO even though they are hard to find, manual tranny w/power options are available.
Do you like the '10? |

Yep.....they still make them. My first Yaris was an '09 5-sp. Hatchback with all the power options. The dealership I bought it from just happened to have it, I guess. I bought it after the first test drive. I rolled it 7 months later and wanted another identical Yaris. Much to my surprise, finding a Carmine red 3-door 5-speed with power package, cruise & cold weather package proved difficult. I had to go to a dealership in Kansas City (600+ miles away) to find the exact car I wanted.
I just turned 20,000 miles on the "new" one and love it. Anyway, $10K for a 30K mile '09 with those options is a good deal. What color is it? |

late reply
Sorry for the late reply. Nice to hear about your recent purchase. My 09 Yaris is meteorite gray.
You say you rolled your 09. I'm guessing it was totaled, but how did it do safety-wise? I assume since you are still alive that it held up well. |

lol....yep, I survived. Take a look at the thread that 3dr5speedblk posted....it shows the carnage. Luckily I did not roll completely over....just onto the drivers side. The car held up very well and I was so impressed that I immediately started looking for an identical Yaris to replace it. For its size, the Yaris does a very good job at protecting its occupants in a crash. Hopefully you never have to find out firsthand! |
