TPMS with snow tires

I searched but was unable to find the answer. Bought 4 used 195/60-15 tires and had them mounted on 4 steelies from an 08 yaris sedan (that had the original tires w/ TPMS sensors still installed). I put 2 of the snow tires on my daughter's 08 sedan and 2 on my 2010 LB and both venicles have the TPMS light on. Is there any way to reset the light? Thanks for any help. Bill C

There are two things you can do. You can either re-program the TPMS sensors for each car (a pain), or do a bypass switch for the winter. I run winter tires on separate steelies, and I have the switch installed. Try this:

I zip tied the switch next to the module, which is right above the glove box opening. Just remember to flip the switch back in the summer!

Just an update, the light has gone off on my 2010 LB after aprox 250 miles. I don't know why it went off as no reprograming was done. As far as I know the light is still on in my daughter's 08 sedan. Bill C

If you park the car near the tires/wheels that you removed, the TPMS system will actually read the sensors and clear the light. If you then drive a certain distance before the system sees them again the light will come back on.
