Gonna Miss it...

I'm might regret it, and I will definitely miss it.. Sold my Yaris, the new owner doesn't actually come and get it until tomorrow. One of the most fun, and definitely most reliable cars I have owned..

May replace it with a mid 2000's Miata.. or a WRX

With echo

If I could afford it I would take the blue car in that pic over a Yaris any day.

Heh the echo i sold 3 yrs ago, i replaced it with the yaris. I would have replaced the echo with the BRZ, just they weren't available and at the time after the tsunami it was thought the BRZ would be delayed, so i bought yaris to serve the interim. Now I have the BRZ, I am thinking to replace the yaris with something potentially for trackdays and messing with and winter while i keep the brz nice for a few more years yet.
Always wanted a miata and it may do all of those decently. Though potentially if it does real well, maybe the BRZ will be the year round car instead. and the miata will become a track beater.

History of the yaris..

09 base, 5spd with AC, 6 disc changer and thats it.
I bought it with 33,000kms on it in 2011(2nd owner). Installed tokico blues, tein springs, TRD axel back and a rr sway bar right away. Bought kosei 17x7 wheels with yoko s-drives from tire rack at the same time.
Got it tinted and bought one of those chinese in dash GPS/Bluetooth/DVD/MP3 players - cost the same as adding the toyota bluetooth to the factory HU. Also followed the guidance on YW to add cruise to it.
At 90k had the brakes done, it needed rotors and pads and nothing more, I also had them put synthetic in the trans. I had oil changed every 10,000kms with synthetic throughout my ownership.

Sold the Kosei's, when i bought the BRZ figuring the yaris would stay on winter duty. It spent last summer in a barn. After that summer I realized I was putting more k's on the BRZ than i liked (my commute alone is close to 40k/yr) So decided I would like to have 2 cars at least in the summer to spread mileage over..
Bought the konigs a few weeks ago, as I only had the winters on the factory steelies. They were a steal off kijiji, like new.

So I've put 103,000kms on the Yaris, and not even replaced a lightbulb. Just oil changes and the brake service it has needed nothing else. It was etested and safetied on Tuesday and needed nothing.

Now I just want something different, perhaps the BRZ has spoiled me for RWD... and this spring I have attended my first lapping day and Autoslalom event and i'm hooked..

Been a great car, I know I will miss it . I'd definitely buy another one should my situation change (though mebbe not the latest gen)
