Two lock buttons
I noticed today that there are two door lock buttons in my car. One on the driver door, and one in the center console. Any reason for this?

In some markets power locks are an option and when they are added you just have the center console switch. I suspect that it has something to do with that.

So now your passenger can operate the locks as well
