Engine breather filter?
anybody using one these engine breathers on N/A engine? any gain? let me know the detail please, thanks

If you think that provides a power gain you have no idea what it is for.

The only reason to install a vent is if your PCV system cannot keep up with the crankcase pressure. Typically only happens on boosted engines, or sometimes if the motor is doing high-RPM track-days (or if the rings are badly worn). There are some vehicles where the PCV oils will clog up various parts of the engine, and I would consider modifying or removing the system, but the Yaris is not one of them.
I'd spend your money elsewhere unless I am missing something. Cheers. |

i'm pretty sure these filters just leave your crankcase unpressurized. (?) I don't see an advantage except the crank vapors do not get vented to the intake system. I would think you'd want the crankcase to remain pressurized during high acceleration to reduce piston blow-by, and this is the reason I would not use one of these...
