Powering Yaris Digital Instrument cluster outside of car
Hey guys,
I have a Yaris digital instrument cluster and I'm trying to power it outside of the car just with a 12v battery, but I don't want to blow the thing. I've been searching for days to try and find a wiring guide so I can figure out +12 and GND just to have it on, but I've had no luck! It has a 24 pin connector and an 8 pin connector, they all have the original wires with the colours from Toyota, I just cant figure out which are needed. Please can you help! I've uploaded the images to https://imgur.com/a/ag5b3 and as they were over the default attachment size :) Thanks so much! |

Why on earth would you want to do this? Just check the connections with a meter if you are concerned its good or bad, that will tell you without the hassle of trying to power it up.

I'm planning on playing with the CAN for this particular unit and I don't want to do anything inside a car, plus having the unit powered and working outside give me the ability to teach/show/demonstrate to other people
