Hey look! It's winking LOL
![]() IMO ricers are immature. They only want their cars to look cool. It's just a popularity contest. If they really wanna push the limits on what their cars can do, they would be better off just building a sleeper followed by a dyno run and a few hot laps around the track

RICER: "Rye'sir"; noun Term applied to those in the import tuning scene, often derisively, due to ongoing biases against FWD drivetrains and poorly modified import vehicles. Used extensively by individuals who are under the impression that Mustang GTs ship with a factory supercharger (only the SVT Cobra does, and only since 2003) or that twin-turbo Supras ship with a supercharger. any person who adds downforce to the rear end of a front wheel drive car in order to achive quicker acceleration Anyone (usually under 25) who drives a fwd 4 cylinder and thinks that stickers add horsepower. Person who has little to no respect for muscle cars but can respect imports that can't even break the tires loose. A person, usually in their teens, who takes imports, usually from Asia, and puts all kinds of "modifications" on it. In actuallity, they are just making it look faster. RICE: (An Anagram Definition) Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements

Take comfort in the fact that they did this as a joke. A real ricer wouldn't name his car the "Poser-Mobile" like that... he'd think it was really and truly the shiznit.

wikipedia.....not.
i lived in japan for several years. here is the truth. in the early 1980's, a maker of cosmetic enhancements for automobiles started a large ad campaign throughout japan. the billboards displayed cars with all types of cosmetic enhancements, and underneath the car was the caption.........."Got Rice?" in smaller letters in parenthesis under that was the following..(Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements) soon, many cars owned by japanese youth were displaying all type of these cosmetic enhancements and it was not long after this phenomenon they began to be referred to as ricers. my fiancee's brother claims to have been one of the first known ricers. |
