A turbo Yaris would cut deep into the mini cooper's sales and give the Civic Si a black eye. But, I doubt a parts guy would have access to that kind of intel.

No offense but I wouldn't hold your breath and take it with a grain of salt. But at the same I guess Toyota could offer a Turbo OPTION for the Yaris. That would be cool. Although I see your in Canada I wonder if they will offer it for the U.S. I highly doubt it at this time maybe later. Or Toyota could offer the same or similar turbo option for the new xD and xB.

Anyway if you can keep us posted that would be cool!

I call BS. Dealers rarely seem to know much about new product.

Agreed. In my experience, it's rare when they know much about current products.

As a dealer representative, all I can tell you is that Toyota has not informed their salespeople (at least in Canada) of a turbo option for 2008. I have published all changes to the 2008 model line that we have been informed of in another thread.

They did make a couple Modellista/TRD concepts for the a few car shows that are turbo charged and produce 150 HP but they only talked about release in Japan and Europe.

I didn't ask he was the one who mentioned it. Until the final word comes maybe BS but interesting I think. Canada thing, since the yaris sells better here. I still can't understand why we get a 5 dr and tach and the US doesn't. Sucks doesn't it!! I think the possibility is good though seeing the sales of the yaris in Canada thus far!
