(DIY) Installing universal shift knobs on automatics
Well. One of the easiest things to do to a Yaris is changing the shift knob. But what an improvement in appearance!
At first you will be overwhelmed by the many choices out there, and you'll be confused trying to find the knob that will fit your yaris. Good news friends! I found that many shift knobs out there can fit the thin stick of our automatic Yaris with little or no modification. I purchased 2 knobs with completely different styles and applications. One is a ball type universal, and the other one is designed for automatic sticks that use a button to shift. Below you will see a brief illustrated DIY that will show you how to install and adapt such knobs on your precious Yaris. I tried both but fell in love with the solid design of the all metal shift knob. The feeling and looks of both knobs are worth the money. Universal ball type knob (MK1 brand) installation

Thanks!... And to answer your question, Yes, It's the same for manual transmissions. The only difference is that for manual trans. it is easier to find shift knobs that just bolt on the stick as it has a bigger diameter.

Any and all DIYs should be welcomed here. I appreciate it even though I already changed mine.
