08 hatchback weird electrical issue - Toyota Yaris Forums

Hi all,

A couple of days ago I noticed that my front and side parking lights weren't working. The rear ones work. I wasn't worried about it at the time because my headlights and tail lights and everything else were working fine and I figured I'd wait until the weekend and do some testing.

This morning I noticed that my dome light no longer works, and my airbag indicator is lit up. The passenger seatbelt warning indicator is flashing. The headlight indicator does not turn on when I turn on my lights (but the fog light indicator does). When I turn my headlights off, the digital clock goes black, and lights back up when I turn on the headlights.

I won't be able to look at this until the weekend, but does anyone have any ideas? I need to keep driving it for a couple of days and I'm worried the headlights or brake lights are going to stop working.

I will go check fuses on my lunch break today, but does anyone have any idea of what else I can check, in case the fuses seem ok?

Ok I feel silly, the battery connectors were heavily corroded. I cleaned and brushed them and that fixed everything except the front and side parking lights. They are still not working. I checked a few fuses (DOME, ECU-B, HAZ and both headlight ones) and they are all fine. Does this sound like maybe a bad switch? The rear ones are working, just not the front ones.
