Sensor Snapped Off

Hi, All. I just snapped off a sensor trying to tighten the belt...I can't find my scan tool (CEL light came on right after I snapped the plug). It is broken off inside block...what does this plug do, and how can I fix it? Thanks!

That is a very common mistake made by people tightening the belt. It is known as the Oil Control Valve (OCV).
You need to loosen your alternator and tip it all the way forward. Remove your plastic engine cover so you can see what you are doing. Once that is done, you'll see a small bolt which secures the OCV to the block. Remove it and then you should be able to carefully worm the valve body out using vice grips or water pump pliers.
The car will run fine it just won't be activating the i aspect of VVTi.

Thanks!

I ordered a new Variable Timing Solenoid and will replace it when it arrives.
