P0500 CODE
Hello fellow yaris folks. I need help. My 2009 yaris threw a P0500 code and the speedometer and odometer do not work. The code says (Veh speed sensor A malfunction. This car has ABS and I'm confused as to where this sensor is. Has anyone here had this issue before and know where is this sensor ?

The sensor is supposedly mounted on top of transmission in the area under the battery tray.

It is my understanding thatToyota didn't move toward input from ABS sensors until Gen3.

Has anyone here previously replaced one of these speed sensors that's mounted on the manual tranny ? i searched around the internet and could not find a video or instructions on how to do that.

Pretty much the same thing. Just envision the air box in the video as our battery tray.

Yes I know it is for Corolla and the sensor looks different. Process is the same for the Yaris.

It's close to useless but this short shows you what you're looking at once the battery has been removed.
