'07 Yaris 3M PPF Protective Film" Quote = US $775

FYI -- I was interested in having the 3M 8mil film put on my hood, fender, mirrors, and bumpers (two kits), and was quoted $775 + tax. It seems that you could get these areas painted if needed three times at that price? ;-)

ok, so I got a reasonable quote, just seemed a bit high. I guess it is all labor though so you figure a few hours at $50-$70 an hour or whatever and it adds up quick. did you feel it was worth it though for a $13-$15K car? for maybe $300-$500 but pushing $800 it seems like a Maaco paint job could easily take care of any paint chips etc I may get on the tiny hood & bumpers for less cost. I may wait and hear about the "fabric bra" posted below....

One thing is for sure. You probably couldn't get a spoiler painted three times for that money.

I got a quote for $600 that included the whole front including a piece of the hood. I honestly thought it was a bit much but I remember the guy saying that it was mostly labor cost but he wouldn't give me a break down..

well the Earl Scheib "Bronze Package" for painting an entire car is $299. So my quote for some plastic protection isn't far off 3 times that. of course that paint-job may not be comparable to what's on our Yarii, but still...

God that's cheap. It's usually ~$5000 to get a car painted...
