I can relate. Few days ago I dropped my cell after I unplugged it from my charger right before I got out of the car. Couldn't find it for the rest of the day. Had to ask my roommate to call it for me after he got home from work. Turns out it was lodged under the seat where I couldn't see it or reach it. After about a few minutes of moving the seat back and forth, it was free and I grabbed it.

If it's not there, then it might be under the mat or behind the pedals. It could also be on the floor behind the front seats. Keep looking, it's there somewhere

This car has lots of places where stuff goes to die. For example, you know those quart-sized bottles that hikers are always using? I had one in my car and it disappeared for like 3 days, until I realized that there was enough space for it to roll under a front seat, and somehow get stuck. Then there was the "change in the cubby on the side of the center tower" debacle...

I'm sure your thing is in there, you just have to look in place you never would have thought to look.

The tire iron and jack is under the driver seat so there's lots of stuff that your flash drive could have been hung up on. I would pull out the tire iron and jack and see if it's not stuck in there.

I lost a pair of sunglasses in my Passat for over two years. When I found them, they were scratched to hell. I thought I had dropped them out of the car, but they got wedged between the driver's seat and center console somehow where I never saw them until years later...

Cheers! M2

Assuming your car is left hand drive, it is more than likely hiding away with the jack under that little black sheild thingy. If its Right hand drive...it might be in the door but more likely fell out, or in the same place.

I lost the USB receiver for my wireless mouse, went to get a new one and a few days later found the original under the seat

Get a flashlight, and look around carefully... move the seat all the way back will certainly help too.
