Ok, I want to replace my TRD CAI because it has a bypass valve that may be troublesome with my supercharger. Is a one-piece CAI such as the AEM unit preferable to this unit? The description talks about a heat-blocking shield that seals to the hood.
It appears that most of the Blitz owners are using CAIs.

This is a great intake, thanks MicroImage. Installation was a breeze, I have 100K on my Lil LB and this intake definitely gave it some pep!

noogie, I believe this is an excellent choice to pair with the supercharger. And, the filter provides easy access, as it's not down in the wheel well.
If I was doing it over, I would get this one.

I got this intake and I love it! No regrets. Everytime you press the gas you can hear the bad boy sucking in air! Nice roar too.
*Usually a CAI goes down into the wheel well but I guess this one is considered a CAI because of the heat shield that is around the filter. I thought this was a short ram and they sent me the wrong one, but the picture above in garm's post verifies this IS the AFE CAI 2! Here's a pic of mine.. Video of it reving/sucking in air... |

Ok, sold! I'll buy the aFe instead of the AEM.

Let me know how this works for you... the Blitz seems to position the throttle body in a slightly different place: my stock intake box didn't go back on quite as smoothly. But yeah, if all good, I would definitely consider getting this (if Garm ever starts writing me back! )

I have really been thinking about trading in my TRD for this intake. I really love the design and simplicity of the SRI.
