I have insurance from Mercury and I'm currently paying $900 every six months.
It used to be around $800 but they told me the Yaris rating got readjusted so the rate went up a little bit.

Oh wait, I think that price also includes the insurance of the family van...

Yes, my Yaris is in full coverage while the van is on liability.
I'll post my insurance details when I get home on Sunday or Monday...

Your insurance is also linked to your credit rating/score.

If you get a free credit report and look it over carefully you will see credit pulls from the insurance carrier.

Based on age, marital status, credit, type of car, driving history, location, claim history......

Not a real fair assessment of rates unless you find someone similar to your age and status in your area.

For my 2008 Yaris and my 1984 4 Runner, I pay a little under $800 through Geico. I am 22 with no accidents or speeding tickets. However I did get my liscencse when I was 16. I had a permit for a year before that. I can get you all the info on coverage here in a little bit.

No,not as far as I know. and yes full coverage I have to have it with the financing that I have. I do have liability on the Runner however it is for mainly off-road use only(any dents that I get are usually on the trails)

Yea it wasn't easy getting it so low. I had to make sure I was getting every possible discount. I was on my parents insurance until I got my own in May. Driver training as geico explained it to me was just taking driving classes or lessons. They didn't even ask for proof but if they need it I can provide it. The defensive driving one is that horrendous 5 hour course which I still haven't taken yet, but it will reduce my premium by 10% so I guess its worth it. For good student i think u have to be 16-24 yo and have a 3.0 enrolled in HS or college. You should try Geico to see what they quote you. They are pretty good with customer service but I haven't had any claims so I dont know how they will treat me with that.

thanks bro. i just called my company Esurance - you are right about the good student thing. DARN IT! the good student thing should apply to ALL full time college students/high school!!! Lol (But i guess it is used to compensate for younger driver usually expensive insurance)

Driver training....i talked to the rep, she didn't know what it really was - but i guess it is for recently finished driving class lessons......but thanks for your info. Geico seems to have more discounts.

New car discount, i believe only applies to straight from dealer correct? I bought mine second hand.

Just found out that they didn't apply for defensive driving......if it's 10% it should shave off 263 off my 1263. 1000 for six months is much better!

thanks for all the info though!

i don't have a copy of the policy with me but i would say is close to or a little better coverage than yours. it was $110.00 per year cheaper but the county i live in got a rate hike because more cars are stolen here per capita than anywhere in the state. there are only 872 people in my "town" per the last census

you also got to realize i'm 55 and my wife is 37, yeah, yeah i know. we have our home owners with the same company and have only submitted 1 claim in the past 16 years.

Oh yea for driver training i think u also have to be 20 or younger. im not sure about the new car discount, i did get it from the dealer but i think the car has to less than 3 yrs old to qualify. You see how you have to be on top of the insurance companies because they "forget" to discount you lool.

Mine is $213 a month. It was $190 a month until that whore IKE came through. I'm with Gieco. I have full coverage on both of my Yaris's. I'm 26 with a clean driving record and my wife is 21 with 2 massive accidents(her fault) on her record.
