Will this work?

if the car is lowered on tein..2 inch at least would 16/50/205 on +40 offset work..i cant seem to get anyone to confirm this..thanks.

No, you'll have rubbing issues with that offset (ET40) and tyre size (205/50/16) on Tein drop.

depends on your definition of "work" is. do you want absolutely no rubbing under any driving conditions?

slight rub is ok..what about 195/50/16 on +40 offset

A 195mm tire will definitely reduce your chances of rubbing.

195mm tyre on ET40 is the way to go.
