Polar White '09 5-door LB. Got a couple of chips on the front bumper and some light scratches on the driver side - side view mirror's color matched cover. Believe it or not, the light scratches on the mirror's cover was caused by very dry, falling leaves from a tree in my driveway and this happened the day after my first bi-yearly "paint protection" application at the dealer.

I have a few paint chip already, and I've had the car for 3mo now.

I'm actually on my way to the dealer today to get a touch-up kit.

I have an 08 Yaris, and I have a few scratches, but, the paint is holding up a lot better then my 02 Grand AM. I have one chip in my windshield, but, the glass guys said it's not the type that needs sealing. My biggest scratch is where my dog tried to jump through my drivers window and I caught her midair and pulled er back from the car.

Yeah, bugs actually destroyed my front end paint, with chips all over the thing. They told me a lot of it was rocks (I am the only driver of my car, and I do NOT travel on gravel roads) so that was a bunch of BS, and as for the rest of it, he said there was nothing they could do. That I should have paid the insane amount of money for the 3M clear bra. I wanted to take sand paper to his car for being such a jerk to me for a serious concern. They recommended I buy a regular Bra for my car, but they don't have them, so that leaves me having to buy the touch up paint (3 bottles at least) and buying a bra from some other car parts store. I will post pics today on both this blog and my other one I originally made about my paint.

After owning my yaris for three months I too have gone to my local toyota dealership to buy touch-up paint. I fixed two minor rock chips that were the size of a BB (no concern) and one (that had me concern) was the size of a dime. I don't think the paint is bad but it isn't great. Only time will tell though.

the paint sucks, you just need to take care of it with multiple coats of wax, is all.

I don't wanna know what you had up your ass that could have been ejected onto your paint....

Anyway Dupli-color sheild people....
its a spray on film that will protect your car against bugs and fine dust debris... I drive in northern Ontario and blackflies and mos-kee-toes will absolutly cover the front of the car. I just spray on the clear dupli-color sheild and when i get home wash it down with warm soapy water and the garden hose... no scrubbing bugs

I've had mine for almost a year, and every month or so I've noticed a few new fine-line scratches on the paint and/or the glass. In direct sunlight you can see scratches everywhere. The weekly birdshit has had no effect surprisingly. As long as I don't see primer it's not a big deal. I'm used to it

I wash/wax my car about every 2 weeks and I have paint chips all over it. Worst ones are on the front bumper, but I probably have aabout 15 or so oddball ones like the one on my rear quarter panel. I bought a duplicolor touch up pen but just gave up after realising how many chips there were. Also I only have like 2 chips in the finish of my aftermarket hood.

I've done two things to cut down on the dings on the nose of the car. I keep a good coat of Eagle One nanowax on the car, takes about 15 minutes to wax the whole car. I've also bought a Le Bra nose cover for it. The Le Bra doesnt look to bad but it could fit a little better. I was hoping that Toyota would introduce one but never has. I wash the car well and put a good coat of wax under the Le Bra before I put it on. I take if off every 3 weeks to a month and clean under it and rewax the nose. This seems to cut down on the dings quite a bit. On the windshield I don't know what to do about it. I've had 3 dings that I had repaired and probably at the end of the summer will put a new windshield in her. I guess this goes with having an areodynamic car that picks up the stones easily. Just my two cents worth.
