Anyone else have trouble running off the road?
My other cars you could take your hand off the wheel a good 5 seconds, not the Yaris. I calaculate 0.5 seconds before hiting the ditch and it was just perfectly aligned, not sure I like the electronic steering.

Mine does fine. More likely road conditions NOT the elec. power steering.

the alighnment is perfect. The roads are rough, I don't drink .

I know what you mean Regal. Mine is aligned and does the same thing. I think it's the poor roads + the wind.

With the TRD suspension the car is such a go-cart it is a thrill to drive, but you got to stay on it. No searching for cigs, or candy stashes while driving.

I'm saying when I open a drink, etc. It's hard to let go of the wheel without having to grab it quick in a second.

lf camber -.1 caster5.1 toe .09 rf -.8 4.3 -.06 lr camber -.5 toe .26 rr -1.3 toe-0.05 front total toe 0.15 steer ahead 0.01 rear totaltoe .21 thriust angle 0.16 Scion 15x6 7 Spoke Wheels with brand new Champiro 328 195-55-15, TRD Springs, Tokico Blues, TRD rear Sway Bar Down the highway hands off the wheel runs straight. Its when speeding up from a stop or turn that you really got to watch it. |

the reasons you have the problem have been highlighted. your car is on VERY hard tires, and is going down the road sideways. pay an alignment guy to 0 those numbers out for you. also, pick up some camber bolts 15mm (can be found on jegs.com for a resonable price) and have the guy get you some decent -1.5deg camber up front. you'll love the handling. you can adjust the rear toe with very thin shims of brass, to get rid of that toe issue, or maybe loosen the rear axle and hit it with a hammer lol.. gotta love crap rear suspension (i hate mine)

I agree with Tomago. You might think your alignment is good, perhaps because some tech told you it was "within spec"... but it's not good at all.
Your front toe is probably okay, the wheel just wasn't centered when they took that reading (that, or you're driving around with a cocked wheel). Your front camber sucks. When I do driveway alignments, I try to at least get within 1/4 degree from left to right. When I PAY somebody to do it on an alignment rack, it better be within .1! And, like Tamago said, you want some negative camber for best handling. Your rear alignment is completely screwed. There are no adjustments back there, which means you've bent something. (or your alignment tech set the rack up poorly, or the rack is out of calibration) Rear camber should be .9 and rear toe very near zero or less than .1 toe in from the factory. With the beam axle suspension, that doesn't change due to ride height. That last spec, the "thrust angle" of .16... that's the angle that your car is pointed at when you're going straight. Like Tamago said, you're going down the road sideways. |
