Question Lights!

So like, I have a white Yaris & I don't know whether I should get yellow fog lights or clear, what would you recommend?

Oh! So I live in Southern California, and I want to get HID lights. My friend said that if I have projectors or reflectors or whatever it was for my headlights, it is illegal and I could get pulled over. He also said that the HIDs must point down or something and not reflect to the person that is driving in front of me. So which kind of HIDs should I get? Thanks! (:

Any headlight modification is illegal in CA. HIDs are like people
tinting their front windows in CA, a lot of people do it but don't
get a ticket. I got pulled over by CHP and he thought my HID ballasts
where some kind of ignition controller and my scanguage was a boost
controller. I told him that the ballasts were for my headlights and he
didn't seem to care. Just depends on the cop I guess. You're gonna
have some glare with HIDs so if you do it I recommend getting some
projectors to cut down or eliminate the glare.

I think HIDs should be legal if they are in projector housings but CA has a lot of wierd laws. Also go with clear fogs.

The only thing fog lamps are good for are back ups for your head lights in case a head light bulb burns out.

Well seeing as how I just got pulled over yesterday on my way to work (I live in san diego , california) For having yellow fogs . The cop said "In Ca , any modification to your lights is Illegal " I said really and he said "yes, you modified your fog lights by tinting them yellow " I really didn't think yellow fogs were illegal but I guess so . I would have to say get the clear fog lights lol

I haven't looked in a while, but it used to be that auto parts stores sold the yellow
lights as "fog" and the clear lights as "driving". Which ones work better in fog?

Yellow fogs are quite legal.... That cop is making bullshit up. Then again california has their own stupid laws... But officialy in the UNITED STATES. Yellow fog lights are well within the legal law... Some cars some Standard with yellow fogs...

The yellow bulbs are legal in Ca, however, the yellow lens is not. I have no idea why. Yellow will
give you better visibility. The headlights on your car in CA must illuminate white or yellow
according to the laws on the CHP website.

Hm, I looked at some on Ebay, but my friend told me you pay for what you get. The guy was selling it for $58 including shipping, but I'm gonna buy it from Micro Image.

Go back and read the CA VC that I posted up on page one.
Weather they are RICE, GayD33M, or what ever you wanna call them, yellow light emitting from the front of the car is perfectly legal. As long as they are aimed properly.

IMO fog lights should be yellow as this is the color that "cuts" through fog the best.

Any other color really defeats the purpose of fog lights.
