Ugh.

Thanks, Toyota. NOT.

All I gotta say is thats Toyota Corp. for ya. They sit up on high in their office's and don't realize what is considered a true tuner and what is not. I bet the Marketing Directors daughter said it would be cool to make it look like a pink mint candy.

i know that you gotta be at least 21 to get in. i heard it from my friend whose parents left for the SEMA show just recently. My friend was gonna go with them but wasn't 21. He keeps talking about his parents and the SEMA show so i kinda know things about it.

SEMA isn't open to the public, so you have to be pretty well known in whatever your industry in (car related, of course) to get invited .... I wish they would let a certain number of regular people in ..... I would fight for a ticket lol :)

They did this year. It was the SEMA Enthusiast Program.

http://www.sema.org/news/2009/09/16/...search-program

And I don't believe you have to be 21 to attend.

This is my fourth SEMA, and I've seen some people that are pretty young (16+ maybe?).

I vastly prefer my pain ol' everyday ride to the fantasy versions being shown...that goes for my current Yaris, too.

toyota seems tobe throwing their cool/trendy budget into Scion, Yaris would cannibalized scion sales if it got too trendy, not sure if that makes sense

with the high CG and light steering, the Yaris was never meant to be a serious performer, and with Scion being the Gen-Y brand, essentially teh Yaris is relegated to econo duty like the Tercel and Echo

ugh, see i like the swirls.. i would actually want to find a decal of swirls for my car, but THATS IT. The swirls that dip down from the side mirror, IMO would actually look cool if that was it, and if it was a different color. The splotches and background color and over abundance of design, seriously look like puked up candy..

Yeah right, so when you gonna set up your Yaris Garage so everone can see your ride, or you gonna wait until you put on the lip kit?

Well remember when SEMA had the Superman Yaris, then this...I think they really dont know how to do cars anymore, they think cute is hott...and its not,

Give me the same Yaris, and a $5000 budget and I can make it have that visage of an Evo, badass looking where many many people would want to buy it. And it might inspire people to stop modding their cars like crap, making them DubRice and such, as this car clearly shows a prime example of.

It seems that they know in Japan that its a tuner car, but think only 16 year old high school girls drive this thing.

Sad really...

I really want to see a Vitzcup ready turbocharged TRDm at SEMA, decked out in a nice set of track rims, and a Recaro seats...maybe throw on a new hood or something to give it a better look.

That would be nice.

I think since the days of "Pimp My Ride" and "West Coast Customs" they have forgotten that often times in car modding - LESS IS MORE. Simple, subtle mods really pop - a clean paint job with a bit of graphic work (just for extra points), lowered, nice set of wheels, upholstery work, audio system, intake, exhaust system, after market heads/tails/hood .... not obnoxious colors, patterns that confuse your eyes and make your brain hurt, riced out mods and big wings (not used here, but just stating as an example many times played out). I don't know what the hell happened to people and their taste for modding cars, but maybe they need to look within people who actually know what they are doing and know the key components in creating a CLEAN ride.

(Toyota, you obviously suck at this.)
