New Tire Dressing I found... - Toyota Yaris Forums

This is the new tire dressing I use and I think it’s really good. It DOES NOT SLING OFF THE TIRE, and get all over the doors and fenders and quarter panels, like all the rest of the dressings I have used.

It goes on easy and kinda dries almost in a minute, so the attraction to dust is minimized. I have even just used a 2" disposable paint brush to clean the tires after a week, and did not have to reapply any dressing. I ordered a gallon and they did not charge me any shipping (I think that’s going to change tho) anyway you can see the demo here:

ive never used spray yet, mostly meguiars hot tire shine gel with their applicator but this looks nice.

Actually, I have Chrome wheels so I don't spray the product on the tire. I got a small foam applicator and spray into it with the sponge touching the nozzle. I rub the then "Wetted" sponge on the tire and it makes a REALLY clean application. Also, and to me just as important, I don't waste any spray in the air, and nothing gets onto the rims ! I also forgot to mention, the result is a REALLY shiny finish. (some ppl don't like it, but I do) It's shinier than anything I used to date, and I have a whole shelf full of them !!

My second post. Having talked to numerous tire mfg. reps. over the years, they all say don't put anything on tires and only clean with soap and water. Anything with a petroleum derivative in it can draw the preservatives out of the tire. Dressings with petroleum derivitives can also change the molecular structure of the tire's thread compound, compounds the tire manufacturers work hard on to acheve adhesion and wear characteristics. Discount Tire specifically warns against using products containing alcohol or petroleum derivatives on trailer tires. They also say trailer tires should be replaced after five years.

If tire dressings are a good idea why don't tire manufacturers sell them, let alone recommend them?
