Got new wheels, tires, and springs installed.
Specs -
16X7 Bronze Konig Heliums 205 50 16 Falken Zeix 512 Black gorilla splinedrive lugs Springtech springs 1.7 in drop F\R I am going to put in the center caps, but I am painting them black first. The car rides very well with these springs. Just changing the wheels and tires was a noticeable improvement in handling. The car felt more stable and consistent. Adding the springs just tightenend up everything a bit more. The ride is great with the stock struts and these springs. I wanted these over the Tanabes because the Tanabe DFs lower the rear too much for my taste. I got the wheels and tires from JLB Motorsports in Corona, CA http://www.jlbmotorsports.com. They did great work and gave me an excellent price on the wheel and tire package. They do alot of businees on ebay and some other forums. I highly recommend them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ashley Last edited by largeorangefont; 01-21-2007 at 01:59 PM. |

That looks really great, actually. I'm with you in that I prefer the look of the lowering kits that keep the F/R geometry the same. The ones that lower the rear an extra few tenths of an inch somehow (and I can't quite explain this) end up looking more generic and plain. And the bronze wheel looks very nice against the silver.
Now go get some foglights! |

Very nice. I'm waiting for my 16" rims and will post pictures after they arrive. Q: Did you order the 16" because it rides better than 17" or 18"?

The springs are great, and ride pretty well. I went with the Springtechs because it is an even drop front to rear. The Tanabe DFs lower ther rear more than the front in some of the cars I have seen, and I don't like that stance.

Yes they do. I am going to paint them black when I have time. I think it will fit the theme better.

Your car looks good. I ordered gunmetal wheels but the gold looks nice. My tires size in 205/45/16 and will probalby lower the car 1.8 or 1.9. that will create the same look. Thank you. Pic later.

awesome car, dude...!
great drop... kinda makes me think about getting the springtech's instead of my planned NF210's... i'm also thinking on going for bronze wheels, although I'm leaning more towards the ssw trex 16's: ![]() still in the early stages of window shopping though, so things may change drastically in the future... i.e. right now my ideal tire setup is 205/50/16, although i may just go for some 215/45's, which would probably rule out getting those wheels in the first place... decisions, decisions, decisions... :) Last edited by tk-421; 02-02-2007 at 07:31 PM. |

Just an FYI, the 215s may rub a bit more than you would like on hard turns or big bumps if you go with a lower spring (DF,Springtech Tein etc.). With the TRD springs or the NFs you should be fine. My 205s rub just a bit in these situations and swaybars and/or sturts should fix it. |

I really like the colour of your wheels. Do you find that the colour changes depending on the lighting around the car? I ordered the Konig Helium in 17" last year, Bronze colour. See Thread: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1264 When opened, they were not very bronze, but more gun-metal! I do wish my wheels were a little more bronze than gun-metal, especially after seeing yours. But it could be because of the lighting issue. Just a friendly note to those who are interested in Helium 17's - verify the colour first! It seems the "bronze" colour is consistent among the 16 and 15's I've seen so far.

In the dark, these could be mistaken for gunmetal but when there is any light at all they are clearly bronze. The pictures I have seen of this wheel are accurate to what you see in person. These are a very deep, dark, bronze. In fact, these are the darkest bronze wheels I have owned. I have had some bronze Rotas and 5Zigen wheels before and like this dark bronze on the Heliums better. Hope this helps. Ashley |
