No. They are cheap because they are cheaply made. 15000 Kelvin is also WAY too purple. Optics will be all wrong, you'll throw purple light everywhere, gather the attention of cops, and the visual output actually put on the road will be less than with the stock halogens.
Stick to the 4300K-5500K and a projector setup from Micro Image if you want the best for your car. Then again, if you are just trying to look JDM, yo...buy the girly purple lights. -C

There's a reason he doesn't carry them. They aren't any good, but if you're set on them, get the eBay ones. Just make sure you order several, as you'll be replacing ballasts or purple bulbs often enough.

It all depends on how dedicated the Chinese worker was to his work that particular day. Some people get years out of them with no trouble. Some of them are even on this site. Others put them in and have nothing but problems right off the bat. Blown ballasts in less than a week. Some of those people are on this site too.
It's a chance you take. I'm just trying to stress that they are poorly performing (and illegal) lights. Your mileage may vary. -C

It's an expression. You may get a shit set of lights that blow in a week. You may get a set that outlasts your children. It will vary.

Is it possible to express the brightness and color of the stock headlights in "3000K", "1500K" etc? Where would they be?

im sure most people know that most useable light is between 3500k to 6000k anything higher just looks like its bright due to temp..but hey i could be wrong.. i believe from what i gathered higher temp over 6k looks bright if youre looking at it but not as bright vs 5k if youre the driver..

Yeah, I agree that a 15,000K bulb won't work well. I have 6000K in my low/high beams, and 3000K in my fogs. Granted, I did a retrofit for the headlights, and the fogs are also projector fogs. But at night, it's awesome! I also tried 5400K bulbs for my low beams, but I like the white color (with a small blueish tint) to the 6000K. And they contrast very well with 3000K fogs. As stated above, anything over 6000K, the output sucks.
As for eBay, a buddy of mine got a kit from there, and after installing, one ballast flickered, and a bulb blew after a couple of weeks. It took over 3 weeks to get a replacement sent back to him!! Deal with a company, not eBay. I used DDM Tuning for my bulbs and ballasts. Great customer service! Garm also has the kits. |
