Best friend Ted hates the Yaris

I got my 3 door LB Yaris last year, right before I had to park it for the winter. Where I live, wintertime 4 wheel drive isn't "handy", it's a necessity, so we continued on in the '89 Toyota Corolla All-Trac. Still got in the high 20's mpg all winter, (low 30's come summer) best of all it is a 4 door, and Ted has the back seat all to himself . Now that I am starting to finally drive the Yaris again, it has led to some friction between us.

I took the back seat out, and the resulting area, though great for hauling stuff and general weight reduction is not so good for passengers. Riding along side me in the front passenger seat is not what either one of us are used to, so, after some thought I came up with a scheme to make the rear seat-less Yaris more user friendly for a rear passenger. First try out and some pics tomorrow.

Something minor like a car shouldn't cause friction between true friends. Tell him to grow the fuck up and get used to it.

I've tried that, and it just made things worse, he then acts like I am punishing him for something he did wrong, and then I feel guilty. I think the mod I came up will do the trick though.

Well it's still weird (in in a sense, kind of disrespectful) for a passenger to sit in the back when it's just the two occupants. The driver is kind of relegated to like chauffeur instead of companion/friend.

Any particular reason why you don't want to put the seat back in it?

Well, I reckon Ted might be a big feller. Either that or he's of the canine persuasion. Or both.

But the front has more space if they back the seat up

Seriously man, if he has a problem sitting in your Yaris then don't offer him any more rides in it. Either take the Corolla or ride in his car. You're his best friend, not his bitch.
