install involves popping out four trim pieces, unscrewing the old cluster, and plugging in the new one.

This is the cluster I have in my Yaris and I really like that it has the tach. But then again ... I am in Canada so it is the stock one on my 2007 RS Yaris.

I really like it, But my 16 year old daughter hates it, because the kilo is bigger than the mile per hour, She drives my 10` collora and then back to the yaris and it messes with her head. womenwhat can ya say.

I wouldn't want to have the wrong cluster in my car .. I would for sure change it to Miles (as compared to km) if I lived in the US. It is not just a woman thing ...

it sure has played games with friends with quick cars who`ve rode in the yaris, and me giving it hell, watching there faces when its on the floor, they first looking at the speedo and thinking its mph, they think the car is quick as shit, but in fact to being compared to our twin turbo cars its a slow ass tird. But the fuel mileage is good.

I am sure that you would be able to tell the difference between going 120kph and 120mph without an issue in this car. For starters if it is stock you will be able to draw Social Security by the time you hit 120...well 118.

So, the miles stick with the cluster? This would seem like the biggest issue to me. if I end up switching back to sell the car, I'm assuming everything would be thrown off? Otherwise, I'd love to have a stock looking tach.

Yes, it sticks with the tach. However, you can go to a Toyota dealership and they can re-program the cluster with the accurate miles. No idea how much that would cost though...

Hey all,
I'm a newbie gal. I apologize if this has been answered already, but would sincerely appreciate any help you all might have for me. I have a 2007 North American Toyota Yaris 4 door base model which I would love to hook up my Sunpro model tachometer. Could anyone point me to a pictorial or even just a bit of a walkthrough without pics of which wires from the tach go where to my car? I would REALLY greatly appreciate it. Like I said, I'm a gal who is just getting into cars and would really like to do this for my lil car. Thank you so much for any help you have for me. :-)

it would be a really easy install. Great for someone who hasn't already bought a tach.

Installing a factory cluster is simpler than wiring up and properly mounting a aftermarket tach.

Interesting. Has anyone out there ever paid a dealership to do this? Also, can the odometer switch from counting km to miles?

No, it can't switch units. It counts what it counts. I don't think anyone has actually had theirs reprogrammed. If I can get my hands on a USDM S Cluster, I'll have it done and ask what the cost would be while I'm at it (I have a connection at a dealership, so will only cost me a 6 pack)

Wouldn't bother me as I drove cars with MPH speedometers on them in countries that used KMs for years (Germany, Belgium, etc).

I'm considering this, but since I have an auto I don't really need a tach. Still, I think it would be cool to freak out a passenger who was actually dim enough to believe my Yaris was doing 120 MPH!

By the way, did you get your user name from 'Entourage?'

And my Yaris' name is 'Sprocket.'

Cheers! M2
