From celica to yaris questions!
I currently own a 2000 celica gt.
Going to sell it. First post btw! I saw a slammed yaris on the internet and its been in my mind ever since. Strongly considering into buying one. Im thinking of getting either a black or white one. I would buy a manual one. I would only use it for summer driving so I will slam it. It would be a 2 door of course. I'd buy a used one probably between 05-10 What I want to know: - Is the sport trim worth buying? Is there really a difference between a RS and regular one? - Are there any defaults with certain years or do certain years look better aesthetically that i should be aware of? - Which in your opinion is the best rim size and offset, tire size, coilover spring rates, inches of drop for a flush fitment? Yay another celica owner! I currently own a 01 celica GTS, and a 2008 yaris and a 2013 yaris. what year yaris are you after?
a S version only means you get all black interior, and the body kit. as far as I know its otherwise identical. aesthetics are all up to you. after 08, there are minor body differences. then 2011 up are a different body all together, but same car more or less. when you slam it i will be more than happy to help, another user named 1.5, and myself are among the lowest in the forum ;p sign up att microimageonline.com as well and join us all on the live chat sometime! |

I sold my 2000 GT-S for a Yaris. I got 35 MPG average in the Celica, now I get 40+, I LOVE the Yaris. I really don't miss the power, because a Celica doesn't have any. The only thing I do miss is the sexiness that the Celica's hold... Here was mine.

I came from a 00 GT 5spd. The Yaris is a completely different car it is hard to compare. The sportiness will not be up to par with a celica but it still can be a lot of fun, especially once you mod it. I have the sedan and love it. I think it is more aesthetically pleasing than the hatch but only once modded.
The RS does have a different fascia which looks a lot better than the base but I dont think there is a real power difference if any. |

06-07 rs get side skirts, rear spoiler, 15" alloys, nicer bolstered front seats, 60/40 split rears, all black interior fabric and plastics, rs badge on front grill, leather knob and steering wheel, ABS brakes
08 gets front and rear skirts in addition to above. 09-11 have above 08 items but revised f/r bumpers per 09-11 updated fascia. I would take an RS over a "base" model for many of the above-listed items. Keep in mind power locks/windows and a/c were still technically options, though most have them...
