My 2009 Yaris is leaking oil thru the oil pressure sending unit.

Is a DIY possibility?

Dealer wants $220.

I have an ECHO service manual. Is it similiar to that?

Where is the unit in the SM?

You can grab the Yaris service manual from the Micro Image forum: http://www.microimageonline.com/foru...32-YARIS-FILES

Look at the "engine mechanical" section of the manual. It actually would be identical for the echo, but access may be a tad different.

This is amazing! In over sixty years dealing with cars I have never had to replace an oil pressure switch because of a leak. Now, yours is the second one I have heard of this week! Easy to replace, unscrew the old one after disconnecting the wiring connector. There will be very little loss of oil. Clean the threads in the block and apply a few drops of threadlock to the new switch. Give it a good 'nip up' reconnect the wiring, check the oil level, start the engine, verify the warning light goes out. You have been luck really, when one of these things fails the engine can dump all its oil in less than 20 seconds. Hope this helps.
