Costco Tire Damage Issue
For my 2010 Yaris sedan with P185/60R15 tires:
Got Michelin Defender 90K mile warranty tires from Costco about 4K miles back. Now one of the rear tires got damaged, metal piece pierced sidewall. Costco wasn't getting the Michelin tires so wanted to replace both the rear with Bridgestone. If I insist of Michelin then they will go outside the regular channels and get only ONE tire and replace the damaged one saying that for a 90K mile tire, 4K driven miles will not make much of an impact. Which alternative is better or if neither then what should I propose to them? Thanks. |

Do the matching Michelin. It's never good to have mixed brands in play.

Thanks everyone for the input.
So basically get the ONE new Michelin because mileage is so less on the tires. What would the strategy be if tires had say 30K on them and one tire gets damaged beyond repair? Replace 2 on the same axle or all 4? |

Usually is they are worn less than 1/2 thread, I would just get 2 new.
If you are on your last season or 2 with them, I would get all 4 new. |

Thanks everyone for their input.
Got Costco to replace one tire only. Hopefully all would be well. |
