Will this fit? Watch this space for retrofit pics...
Hey guys
Been away for some time and am now currently living in AZ for 6 months. After much deliberation I have decided to go for the projector retrofit (again) and having someone help me out. I just have a question - maybe a noob question but hey - I am sourcing spare headlight housings from here in the US to ship back home after the retrofit and am just wondering if they are a straight fit to my UK shape Yaris. I'm almost certain they will be, I think the only difference is there is no light fitting for the sidelights we have which shouldn't be a problem anyway as I will be using the halos as DRL's / sidelights if not. Below is my Yaris and an example of the spare housings I'll probably end up purchasing - can anyone confirm for me if they'll be a fit? Thanks in advance guys! Eren ![]()

Can you imagine, a full retrofit project done here and then it doesn't fit back home - stuff that nightmares are made of...

USA 2012-2014 models will fit your vehicle.
If youre having a projector retrofit done in usa, keep in mind that projectors here are LHD and drive on the right side of the road. Cutoff line is opposite from that of UK. Youll have to specifically tell the person doing the projector install that you live in UK so you get the correct cutoff. I recommend http://www.lightwerkz.net, pricey but they do it right the first time. Good luck. |

Thanks for the reply and heads up - already told them that the projectors are going back home and that it will be for a RHD vehicle, that was my initial thought! I'm in touch with Lightwerkz and Black Flame as we speak. Thanks :D

They sure are :) great bunch of guys who have really helped me out. Probably going to go with them. Aiming to get this under way in July some time once things settle down for me here so I will keep this post updated with pics and updates as and when they come in. Now the next question:
Demon eyes: yes or no? Obviously I'm talking about the Morimoto XC ones. Damn I just can't stop adding things to this list...

I would advise against demon eyes only because its just for show and the leds will eventually fail. But if you like it, go for it. You only live once right?

Man, all I heard there was the voice of reason...may skip them to be honest, it was just a wonderful idea, seems a real hassle to deal with a failed LED.
Guys with the US spec Yaris: does the headlight housing have space for a W5W (I think even a 2825) sidelight in it? It's a UK requirement to have these for road use and seeing as though I am having the retrofit guys get me the spare housings in from here in the USA I wouldn't want this to be an issue when I got back home. I'm not sure if my workaround for having DRLs running in their place will work long term...If I have seen it correctly it looks like it might be where the orange reflector is which could be my saving grace. Does the orange reflector come off easily as I may just get that taken off unless there's some ugly plastic moulding under it...

Guys, can I ask your help again please? Checking out rims now and with the help I've had from the thread already out there I think I've come up with a set that will work but could you confirm for me if these will fit my car?
http://www.rimstyle.com/alloywheels/...011&s=urBJwKgH They are 17x7 going to be on 215/40 tyres and they are ET42 Thanks :D

Hey Eren ! don't get me wrong this could be just me: symmetry freak because of my trade ?!?
I find 5-spoke pattern wheels sometimes look odd when matched with a 4-bolt contraption... |

BTW, the 4 bolt pattern will not look very good on that wheel. |

215/40R17 will give a dia. of 23.8" and OEM dia. is 23.7". It will fit fine and can be lowered 1.5" no problem. 215 wide fits easy. Other then that the look is personal choice. I have 205/45R16 lowered 1.5" and plenty of space to spare. I even did 225/45R16 no issues.;)

Thanks for all your replies guys, appreciate the help :)
The idea is to eventually drop it using the Tein S springs or Apex so it'll be about 1.5'' anyways so within the limits. The only reason for choosing the 215/40 was for that little extra width for cosmetics really. It seems the wheels sit just slightly too far inside the wheel arch for my liking. Shame about the 4 bolt pattern not looking great - really like those wheels too!

^^^ I run 16x7, ET42 with 205mm rubber and I'm flush up front. 205mm tyres rub on the plastic inner fender liners at full lock... which really isn't a big deal.

How much are you lowered, please give all the info required because I have absolutely zero rub with same wheel specs and lowered 1.5" on a 2009 3 door hatchback. I could lower more.

A little update on the retrofit guys. Had some word from BFC and the parts are in and they will beginning work soon! If anyone is interested I'll be posting pics as they send them to me of the work - if you're weird like me and like to see this stuff in action (mostly because I'm unable to do it myself due to an undersized oven) then you'll probably enjoy the pics as much as me. Time to get a bit too excited!
