I planned on replacing my downstream O2 sensor, starter, shocks, rear wheel bearings and possibly the clock spring mechanism in the next few weeks before an out of state trip. I bought all but the clock spring.
While waiting for the parts I decided to try to tackle the terribly rusted rocker panel. I found this underneath, is this car toast? That's the frame right? I should mention, I'm not a welder and I don't know one haha |

holy crap man thats pretty bad. i seen 3 year old work trucks rust out in western ny to the point of scrappage. need a wider shot but it looks mighty fragile. you should give it a little poke with a screwdriver to see how crunchy it is. i almost would consider buying another for the price you are putting all those parts in+labor (if you are taking to the mechanic)

Pic #1, it's not THAT bad
Pic #2, Good lord!!! I wouldn't put anyone that I love in that car. If times were tough, I'd risk myself. |
