My daughter is in Jacksonville, NC. Her rent is about $800 for a 2 bedroom/2 bath. Jacksonville is above Wilmington, but also near the beach.

We're just going for an efficiency apartment (studio, 1 BR, etc.). I've found a few close to the beach at around 350-500 per month, some even include utilities.
I pay $350/month for a 2BR here, plus my utilities are usually around $150-$200.
