They don't. I've ridden in many so I can tell you first hand. When you take a turn, the wheels stay firmly planted while the rest of the car moves (that's with more than 2 people in the car) It's actually kind of fun, especially when you ride in the back.

The owner of that car has a good sense of humour

plus he's in no hurry to get anywhere because in San Francisco there are tons of hill, and some of them are real steep. If memory serves, a 2CV climbs hills VERY SLOWLY;) not what you'd call a performance car!

but you still gotta love 'em
